Working with 25 institutions, residents, and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster City Council to develop an Events Strategy for Exhibition Road. Despite the Road designed to be a shared environment, the up-to-6 permits a year were not being used. The Approach included one-to-one cultural leader consultation; residents sessions; council sessions and extensive review of permitting and cultural planning. The (only) unanimously adopted plan by the ERCG, has enabled the Great Exhibition Road Festival lead by Imperial College and seasonal educational takeovers; institutional outreach programmes generated programming for The Road; provided a stream-lined permit plan and attracted new partnership funding and sponsorships. Additional programmes are now curated between the institutions as a by-product of the relationships made during the development workshops.
